Working with living cells
Photomicrograph notes elsewhere
Processing of images (mostly relates to micro*scope)
Once you have decided on the right technique, and have a list of elements that need to be documented, then you simply need to work from the more general items to the more particular.
It may take more than one session to do this well. So, do not expect this to be completed within a short time.
Begin at the dissection scope, select cells to work on, transfer them to a slide with the least amount of fluid possible. Check at low magnification to find cells that are slow moving and free from detritus (are photogenic).
Try to take the pictures so that the organism is aligned along one of the axes of the image and that the picture includes all of the elements that you are targeting. Throw away images that do not achieve what need.
Try to ensure that the image is as large on the camera chip as possible (i.e. work at the highest magnifications possible)
Generally take the images a little dull, as contrast can be added later.
