Marine benthic dinoflagellates - NW Australia
| Description of Rhinodinium broomeense: Sand-dwelling dinoflagellate, type and at the time of writing sole species in the genus. Oval cell, with an anterior dorsal hook from which the genus gets its name, 48-70 microns long, 26-30 microns wide. Cingulum narrow, sulcus deep. Species described from NW Australian marine intertidal sediments by Murray, Hoppenrath, Preisfeld, Larsen, Yoshimatsu, Toriumi, and Patterson 2006. Journal of Phycology, 42: 934-942. |
