Caviomonas - a small enteromonad (Diplomonadida) flagellate of about 5 µm in length with an anterior nucleus, an anteriorly directed flagellum and a recurrent flagellum adhering to the cell body. It occurs in the gut (caecum) of rodents such as the guinea-pig Cavia porcella. This species is from Mus musculus. Phase contrast. This image was taken by Guy Brugerolle.
