Ciliates from Ehrenberg -- 1838
Description of Coleps elongatus:
Prorodontid ciliate, 65-80 micrometres long. Elongated body, nearly cylindrical; coated with calcareous ectoplasmic plates featuring 3 spines at posterior extremity. 13 rows of platelets (Noland, 1925) or 14-17 rows (Kahl, 1930). With 2 long caudal cilia; cytostome apical.
