Description of Metacoronympha: Multinucleate flagellates (22-92 µm) composed of 66-345 karyomastigonts arranged along spiral lines from the apex. Each karyomastigont comprises three anterior flagella and a recurrent thick flagellum adhering along a cresta in its proximal part. Axostyles independent, grouped at the posterior end. Parabasal bodies dot-shaped applied against the nuclei. The only species, M. senta, occurs in several termites of the genus Incisitermes (formerly Kalotermes) in America.
