 Drawing
Cercomonas bodo (Meyer, 1897/ 8) Mignot and Brugerolle, 1976. Cercomonad cells which are oval to cylindrical, 6-10 microns long and 3-5 microns wide. Metabolic without pseudopodia. The anterior flagellum is about 2 times the cell length and the posterior flagellum is slightly longer than the cell. One contractile vacuole in the centre, occasionally in the posterior. This is one of about 700 species of heterotrophic flagellates reported from marine environments.
