|Description of Anisonema prosgeobium: Probably this is the same as Anisonema acinus, the cell outline is ovate or shaped like a wheat grain, 25-30 microns long, 12-16 microns wide, flattened. The pellicle is said to be smooth, and in this respect is said to differ from Anisonema acinus, but the depth of the grooves and their visibility may vary. The anterior flagellum is about 1.5 times cell length, posterior flagellum 2.5-3.5 times cell length. Nucleus in the right hand side of the cell. |
