| Description of Metopus rostratus: Cells oval, anteriorly broad and posteriorly pointed, 18-30 microns long and 8-11 microns wide. Four flagella of unequal length; 2 longer and 2 shorter, and inserted into a narrow, ventral furrow. Nucleus nearly in the centre. Contractile vacuole in the anterior end. |
