 thraustochytrid?
Unidentified organism. One cell seen. A small number of very delicate arms emerge from a small round body. Arms behave as pseudopodia. No organism exactly like this has been described before, but the thin nature of the extensions is very reminiscent of thraustochytrids. Phase contrast. This picture was taken by Linda Amaral Zettler and David Patterson of material from the acidic Davis Mine. Image copyright: L Amaral-Zettler and D. J. Patterson, image used under license to MBL (micro*scope).
