Description of Ellipsopyxella: Test resembles Geopyxella but with biaxial symmetry. In contrast to Ellipsopyxis the aperture is circular, not or only very weakly invaginated. During resting phases the pseudostome is closed by a mucous diaphragm. The test is composed of relative flat mineral particles (crystalline quartz) giving a smooth surface, ventral, sole thicker than the rest of the shell, pseudostome without organic lip. Found in grassland soils. Geographic distribution: Ivory-Coast, French Guyana. Type species: Ellipsopyxella regularis Bonnet, 1975.
