Description of Salpingoeca inquillata: The lorica (length 10microns, maximum diameter 4.5-5.5 microns) is elongate and cup-shaped, tapering antapically into a peduncle about 15 microns long. The ovate cell (length 6-7 microns) is anchored to the bottom of the lorica by a short cytoplasmic strand. The length of the collar (5.5-12 microns) and the flagellum (4-13.5 microns) varies much.
