Freshwater euglenids - NW Australia

The micro-algae and protists of north western Australia have not been studied to any great extent. The descriptions of the euglenids included here were taken from Nimalaica wetlands and the Fitzroy River near Broome in NW Australia. This survey was carried out by Angelika Preisfeld and David Patterson in 2003. This survey was supported by the Australian Biological Resources Study. Image of wetlands by D. J. Patterson.
