Plumatella spec. covering internodial shafts of sago pondweed (Potamogeton pectinatus) with their mineralized exoskeletons of proteinaceous sheets. Along with this epizoa we see thalli of the red alga Ceramium diaphanum.

Collected from Bodden, the brackish waters lying between the isles of Hiddensee and Ruegen (German Baltic Sea). This image was taken using Zeiss Universal with Olympus C7070 CCD camera.
