| Description of Cyclidium glaucoma: Scuticociliates, 25-30 microns long. The cell size and the number and length of the somatic kineties are variable, and post-division organisms have a very short kinety n, that is, the last ciliary row. The only features of the cell morphology that are constant are the arrangement of the kinetosomes of the oral infraciliature, and the curved anterior end of the somatic kinety n over the oral polykinetid 1. The cells never skip. It makes a sudden movement, either to change position or to move to another part of the microscope preparation. |
